Scared Because We’re Vulnerable

Are we scared because we're vulnerable

Or vulnerable because we're scared?

Through the mandate to keep our coffers full

By hoarding resources meant to be shared.

When the law gets its hands on something raw,

The iron grips smothers to a char

As sacrificial fodder for the next frontier war

With a mandate to keep medicine behind closed doors

And draw our healers away from forest floors.

From given by nature to patented in stores

Opposites deposit a composite

That exposits how the faucet of creation

Breeds our salvation,

Generation to regeneration.

Passed on entropic initiations

Like coy doctors inoculating patients.

You exhaust me as much as you defrost me

With the warm of a new season's lightning storm

From meek and mild to blazing forlorn

Swallow my pride and bugle your horn.

A lone loon calls in the middle of the night

For reasons we investigate only after dawn's light.

Rituals remind us to remember

The hottest sun in cold December,

How blinding fires grow from dim embers.

Feelings are steam,

Words condensation,

And acts solidification.

From fantasy to reality, the original dream team.

You can do anything you set your mind to

Once you change the definition of you.

The people who really care always become weary

By critiques from those who care only in theory.
